The Congress

The International Congress on Transportation Research is a tradition in the field of Transport in Greece enumerating a series of events which are being organized under the cooperation of the research and professional community in the field of transport, with emphasis on Greece.

The Congress goal is to present research activities in the field of Transport in Greece and Europe that could be applied in Greece. In addition, it provides Greek researchers and scholars the possibility to exchange ideas, to gain or spread knowledge and experience, opinions and best practices on transport research issues with other Greek and foreign colleagues from the scientific field of transportation.

The Congress, which is a joint effort of the Hellenic Institute of Transport Engineers and the Hellenic Institute of Transport (Center for Research and Technology Hellas) was launched in 2002 when the 1st International Congress on Transportation Research in Greece was organized in Athens and continued with a series of successful Congresses every two years turning ICTR into a institution for the field of transport research in Greece and Europe.

This website provides valuable information on the Congress institution, on previous events as well as the forthcoming 2010 Congress that will take place in Volos, in September 2010.
